This movement is about so much more than 400 meters of running surface. For over 50 years, the West Valley College track has served as a vital public health sanctuary, environmental green space, and historic neighborhood connection point.Now, access has been abruptly padlocked with no on-site notice - and WVC leadership plans to demolish Saratoga's only 400-meter regulation community access athletic track "replacing" it many years down the road with an inferior non-standard 200m rectangular path. In doing so, West Valley College is failing to honor the 50-year historic legacy of this public resource, ignoring the environmental waste and potentially toxic hazard of bulldozing a historical asset, and offering zero interim or long-term functional replacements to our community - all while falsely claiming Measure W voters authorized this outcome.Whether you are here to uphold Measure W voter compliance for a like-for-like replacement, protect active community health access, preserve our local history, or restore civic trust:

Zero Interim Options: Locking the gates eliminates a 50-year daytime public health sanctuary for flat, cushioned accessible exercise terrain - leaving Saratoga and surrounding communities with no open alternatives during multi-year construction.No Consideration for Downstream Impacts: Local K-12 school tracks operate under strict security and closed-campus rules during school hours. Despite WVC leadership's public recommendation, our local high schools cannot legally or practically absorb displaced daytime users, exposing a complete lack of planning or consideration by WVC for downstream impacts.
